“A celebration of the blues and those beautiful bruises they leave on the singer’s soul.”

Intoxicating . . . spectacular entertainment

In 1967 Janis Joplin exploded onto America’s music scene and became the queen of rock ’n’ roll almost overnight. A.C.T. invites you to experience an “electrifying” night with Janis and her soul influences in the hit concert musical A Night with Janis Joplin. Hear the unmistakable voice, laced with raw emotion and Southern Comfort, that made her a headliner from Monterey to Woodstock with such songs as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Mercedes Benz,” “Cry Baby,” and “Summertime.” With its remarkable cast and breakout performances, this rock ’n’ roll show commemorates both Janis and icons like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone, and Bessie Smith. Break out your most festive ’60s style and celebrate the 50th anniversary of San Francisco’s Summer of Love with A Night with Janis Joplin.

Running Time: 2 hours 15 minutes, including one 15-minute intermission

Please note: This production contains adult language, and utilizes theatrical haze and strobe effects with moving lights.
