Angelique's evil stepmother Beline (René Augesen) and the notary, her "intimate friend" Monsieur de Bonnefoi (Anthony Fusco) hatch a plan to induce Argan (John Apicella) to sign over all his valuables to them before he succumbs to his illnesses—strictly to avoid "chaos and confusion," of course.
