Auditions
Auditions and Casting Policy
A.C.T. holds local general auditions for AEA actors annually, usually in the spring. In seasons when we are producing a musical or a show with music, A.C.T. also holds separate musical auditions for AEA actors.
In addition, we attend both the AEA and non-AEA portions of the Theatre Bay Area (TBA) general auditions, which are held yearly in the Bay Area during the winter. For more information about TBA's auditions, please call 415.430.1140 or visit their website at www.theatrebayarea.org.
A.C.T. also holds out-of-town AEA general auditions in various locations, including New York and Los Angeles, in accordance with LORT/AEA rules.
Due to A.C.T.'s LORT status, there are very few openings for non-Equity actors.
Audition announcements are listed here on the A.C.T. website and on the AEA website. Local auditions are also listed in Theatre Bay Area magazine and on the local AEA hotline; out-of-town auditions are listed in such publications as Back Stage and Back Stage West.
Casting of actors 18 years old and under is coordinated through the A.C.T. Young Conservatory, which can be reached at 415.439.2444.
A.C.T. accepts submissions of headshots and resumes. They can be mailed to us at:

For questions or inquiries related to general casting at A.C.T., please contact Artistic Fellow Ariel Craft at acraft@act-sf.org.
A.C.T. is also very interested in becoming acquainted with trained, Equity actors who are relocating to the Bay Area. If you are relocating, please submit your headshot and resume or contact Ariel Craft.
