Volunteer Ushers

Help us create an extraordinary theatergoing experience for our patrons—and enjoy incredible perks throughout the season. If you are interested in being a volunteer usher, click here for more information. If you are currently a volunteer usher, click here to sign up for volunteer ushering positions. Please note: ushers must be at least 17 years of age, be able to walk up and down stairs, be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and have no fear of heights.

Reception/Front Desk

Take a seat in the midst of our lively company with a shift at the welcome desk. Greet visitors, transfer calls, and perform light administrative tasks as you interact with students, staff, and artists. The A.C.T. offices are located at 30 Grant Avenue, San Francisco, just a few blocks from the theater. For information on available shifts, email Caresa Capaz at ccapaz@act-sf.org.

Library

The A.C.T. performing arts library contains more than 8,500 plays, periodicals, and theater-related publications. Volunteer duties include checking out and shelving books, answering student inquiries, and other special projects. For more information, email Joe Tally at jtally@act-sf.org.
