A.C.T.’s Education and Community Programs Department and Filipino Education Center Galing Bata at Bessie Carmichael School present an original piece of theater created and performed by elementary school students, directed by Ely Sonny Orquiza. The A.C.T./Galing Bata classes harmonize children's culturally and linguistically sensitive development by promoting biliteracy in English and Filipino (Tagalog) through animating folk tales, promoting self-expression within community, and more. Culminating the yearlong creative experience, students have collaborated on the development of an original piece of theater to be presented to the larger multicultural community.
This event welcomes families, teachers, and other community members to enjoy food, music, & dance, and to celebrate the students’ performance and creative endeavors.
