Hilltop High School: My Life Like Poetry / Mi Vida como Poesía

APR 22, 2026 at 11:30AM

My Life Like Poetry / Mi Vida como Poesía is an original, student-created performance that captures the lives of Hilltop High School students in the language of poetry with heartfelt beauty, strength, love, pain, paradox and irony. Without a traditional narrative structure, the show weaves together powerful personal life experiences through multiple artistic forms, including spoken word, movement, puppetry, storytelling, music and videography.

Through raw honesty and creative collaboration, these young mothers share their lived experiences and offer their voices, stories, and truths as poetry in motion.

Written by Hilltop High School students, My Life Like Poetry/Mi Vida como Poesía is co-directed by Sierra Gonzalez and Maica Folch in collaboration with Hilltop teacher Elizabeth Zamboldi.

Support for A.C.T.'s Education & Community Programs is provided by a community of very generous foundation, corporate, government, and individual donors and partners, including: the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth & Their Families, Martin Tannenbaum and the Estate of Gerald B.
