Raíces de Fuerza, Branches of Freedom

May 10, 2022

Tuesday, May 10 at 12 p.m.
By Invitation Only

A.C.T.’s Education and Community Programs Department and Hilltop Special Service Center present an original performance stemming from a yearlong creative writing project. The students, all pregnant and parenting teens, have spent the school year exploring theater and writing exercises that build confidence, address specific issues, and empower them to feel more connected to themselves and others. Directed by A.C.T. Teaching Artists Annie Rovzar and Reyna Brown, the original performance is written and performed by the students, featuring poetry, monologues, and scenes exploring issues of particular relevance to their lives.

This event is reserved for the Hilltop community and invited guests, and will be followed by a delicious meal and celebration of the students’ success. Families, including the students' own children and caregivers, are encouraged to attend to experience this culminating performance, hear from performers in a post-show Q&A, and celebrate with the community.
