Each spring, actors in A.C.T.’s top-ranked Master of Fine Arts Program take an abridged (60–80 minutes) production of a Shakespearean classic, adapted and directed by a distinguished professional director and followed by a post-show Q&A with the cast, to Bay Area schools and public spaces.

As You Like It

May 10–Dec 31, 2021

This year's production, As You Like It, is going virtual and will be FREE to educators to use in classrooms, in the Bay Area and beyond!

Follow Rosalind and Orlando, who fall in love but must flee the court for the Forest of Arden. In the forest, through disguise, adventure, and a very odd courtship, they discover that a new world is possible, but that they will have to build it themselves, making concrete their commitments of love, respect, and a shared prosperity.

Directed by M. Graham Smith and adapted in collaboration with Ryan Nicole Austin, this filmed performance ingeniously combines the worlds of hip hop and Shakespeare for an exciting theatrical experience.

  • This performance runs approximately 80 minutes.
  • We recommend this performance for grades 6–12.

We're excited to make this production available on demand to educators and students from May 10–Dec 31, 2021.
