In-person meetings will be held at our 30 Grant Avenue studios in San Francisco.
All students must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Mask wearing when in a classroom studio at 30 Grant Avenue is optional for students. However, masks are still required in any indoor public spaces outside the classroom studios. Please note that our COVID-19 safety policies are subject to change.
Spring Session Refund Policy
- Courses with insufficient enrollment will be canceled and all tuition and fees paid will be refunded in full.
- Withdrawal and refund requests for any other reason must be made in writing and emailed to youngconservatory@act-sf.org.
- Refund requests will be honored in full if received at least one week (7 days) prior to the start of the first class session. Class tuition will be refunded while the non-refundable registration and library fees will be withheld.
- Should a refund request be made after the above deadline, a withdrawal fee will be withheld in addition to the standard non-refundable fees as follows.
- After the refund deadline but before the first class date: $25 withdrawal fee
- On or after the first class date of full-length classes: $45 withdrawal fee
- Refunds of any kind cannot be processed after the start of the second class meeting for full-length courses or on the day of intensives.
- Please allow 10-14 days for your refund to be processed.

Middle School Classes
Schedule: Saturdays, March 18–May 13 from 10 am–12 pm at 30 Grant Ave*

Tuition: $325
Designed for advanced performers, this intensive allows actors to expand on acting, voice, and staging techniques for various styles in the musical theater canon for a fully developed cabaret performance. This is an advanced intensive for students who have taken a musical theater course previously and are eager to take their training to the next level. During this project, actors will explore:
- Advanced acting tools and theatrical skills
- Vocal technique fundamentals such as breath control, articulation and rhythm
- Musical theater dance and choreography
- Song performance in a cabaret setting
The class meets once a week for 8 weeks in-person at our 30 Grant Ave studios in San Francisco, with no class on April 8th. There will be some assignments and memorization between classes. This course culminates in an “open class” on the final day where students present songs and projects rehearsed in class to friends and family. Have fun with peers while learning valuable musical theater skills!

Improvisation is an essential actor’s tool for freeing the imagination, gaining confidence, and deepening your emotional connection. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Through exercises, scenes and/or monologues, actors will explore:
- The fundamentals of improvisation such as spontaneity, remaining present, and the power of positive choice
- Imaginative and physical character creation
- Practicing courage and flexibility onstage and off-stage
The class meets once a week for 8 weeks in-person at our 30 Grant Ave studios in San Francisco, with no class on April 8th. There will be some assignments and memorization between classes. This course culminates in an “open class” on the final day where students present projects rehearsed in class to friends and family. Have fun with peers while learning valuable improv skills!

Tuition: $325
Using real-life set and audition scenarios, students in the Spring On-Camera class will focus on the ins and outs of a professional on-screen audition. Playing readers and auditionees, in addition to screen tests and a Q&A with TV/Film experts, students will gain confidence and knowledge about the industry. This course is recommended for those with previous on-camera experience.
Actors will explore:
- Audition preparation and filming self-tapes
- The business and industry of film, television, and commercial acting
- Fundamental acting tools including objective, obstacle, actions, tactics, and point of view
- Theatrical skills such as scene analysis, vocal production, and physical awareness
