Spend your summer with the Young Conservatory!
Intensives run M-F for either 1 or 2 weeks.
Expand your acting toolbox with Acting Intensive: Magical Worlds. Actors will focus on material inspired by literature, screen adaptations and songs from a variety of magical worlds, including Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and more. Along the way, students will build a foundational knowledge of acting principles and explore improvisation, character work, and text performance. Students of all levels of experience welcome. Actors will explore:
- Theatrical skills such as tableaux, gesture, vocal production, and movement
- Improvisation games
- Character development through key tools including objective, obstacle, actions, physicality
- Scene and monologue performance
Classes will meet online via Zoom. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group "public" showing (families, Zoom in or gather around the computer!) to present projects and scenes rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!
Session Dates: June 21–July 2, Monday through Friday at 11 a.m.–1 p.m. via Zoom
