All classes take place in-person in our studio spaces at 30 Grant Ave.

All students ages 12+ must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. All students and faculty must be masked at all times while in the building. Please note that our COVID-19 safety policies are subject to change.

Summer Session Refund Policy

  • Cancelations must be made in writing and will be honored if received at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of the first class session. Class tuition will be refunded minus the non-refundable registration fee, plus a $75 processing fee. Please email your cancelation request to youngconservatory@act-sf.org.
  • Refunds of any kind will not be given after the above-stated deadline.
  • Please allow 10–14 working days for your refund to be processed.

Session 1: 4-Week “a la carte” Classes, June 6–July 1

Schedule: Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays, June 6–July 1: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $550

As Netflix, HBO, and other media channels revolutionize the television and film industry with increasingly complex and riveting scripts, we are seeing more crossover than ever between stage and tv/film actors, making it necessary for young actors to have training in the unique protocols of the on-camera industry. In this course, actors will learn the ins-and-outs of the film industry and create a reel for on-camera auditions. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. During this project, actors will explore:

  • Advanced acting tools and theatrical skills
  • On-camera acting techniques versus stage techniques
  • Audition preparation and filming yourself
  • The business and industry of film, television, and commercial acting

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present projects and scenes rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!

Tuition: $575

Designed for advanced performers, this intensive allows actors to expand on acting, voice, and staging techniques for various styles in the musical theater canon for a fully developed cabaret performance. This is an advanced intensive for students who have taken a musical theater course previously and are eager to take their training to the next level. During this project, actors will explore:

  • Advanced acting tools and theatrical skills
  • Vocal technique such as breath control, articulation, rhythm, and vocal production
  • Musical theater dance and choreography
  • Song performance in a cabaret setting

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present projects, songs, and scenes rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable musical theater skills!

Schedule: Tuesdays/Thursdays, June 7–30: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $350

Tuition: $850

In this 2-week intensive, actors will dive into the songs of iconic contemporary musicals like Hamilton, Six, Hadestown, and more. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Using hit solos and group numbers from these shows, actors will explore:

  • Vocal technique such as breath control, articulation, rhythm, and vocal production
  • Movement and an introduction to choreography
  • Song and character interpretation and performance

Classes will be held in-person meetings at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon musical performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present projects, songs, and scenes rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable musical theater skills!

Session 5: July 25–August 5

Schedule: Monday-Friday, July 25–August 5: 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $825

Scene work is an essential component of professional theater training.  This 2-week intensive allows actors to focus on give and take with a scene partner and listening and responding in the moment. This is an advanced intensive for students who have taken an acting course previously and are eager to take their training to the next level. Actors will explore:

  • Essential acting tools like listening, vocal production, and rhythm
  • Using script and character analysis to discover and uncover a scene
  • Scenes and plays from the American contemporary theater canon
  • Scene and monologue performance

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present material rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!

Schedule: Monday-Friday, July 25–August 5: 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $850

“Come Alive” with a two-week intensive exploring the rich and exciting music of The Greatest Showman! This biographical movie-musical follows P.T. Barnum in his creation of the modern circus and his relationships with the performers who brought it to life. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Using hit solos and group numbers from this musical, actors will explore:

  • Vocal technique such as breath control, articulation, rhythm, and vocal production
  • Movement and an introduction to choreography
