All classes take place in-person in our studio spaces at 30 Grant Ave.

All students ages 12+ must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. All students and faculty must be masked at all times while in the building. Please note that our COVID-19 safety policies are subject to change.

Summer Session Refund Policy

  • Cancelations must be made in writing and will be honored if received at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of the first class session. Class tuition will be refunded minus the non-refundable registration fee, plus a $75 processing fee. Please email your cancelation request to youngconservatory@act-sf.org.
  • Refunds of any kind will not be given after the above-stated deadline.
  • Please allow 10–14 working days for your refund to be processed.

Session 2: June 13–17

Session 3: June 20–July 1

Schedule: Monday-Friday, June 20–July 1: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $825

Interested in acting in film and television? Now’s your chance to get in front of the camera in this 2-week intensive. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Actors will explore:

  • Fundamental acting tools and theatrical skills
  • On-camera acting techniques versus stage techniques
  • Audition preparation and filming yourself
  • The business and industry of film, television, and commercial acting

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon on-camera performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present material rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!

Using songs from hit musicals like Hamilton, In The Heights, Moana, and Encanto, actors will dive into the world of contemporary musical theater performance through the music of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Using hit solos and group numbers from his shows and movies, actors will explore:

  • Vocal technique such as breath control, articulation, rhythm, and vocal production
  • Movement and an introduction to choreography
  • Song interpretation and making a well-loved character your own

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon musical performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present projects, songs, and scenes rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable musical theater skills!

Session 4: July 11–22

Schedule: Monday-Friday, July 11–22: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave

Tuition: $825

Come join us as we dive into the world of swashbuckling pirates, mermaids, and magical “star stuff” in Peter and the Starcatcher! Actors will delve into physical comedy through scenes from the heart-warming and hilarious play. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Actors will explore:

  • Theatrical skills such as tableaux, gesture, vocal production, and movement
  • Improvisation games
  • Character creation through key tools including objective, obstacle, actions, and physicality
  • Scene and monologue performance

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present material rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!

From classics like West Side Story and Les Misérables to contemporary favorites like Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen and Hadestown, actors will delve into the songs of iconic musicals from Broadway. Students will use the iconic music of Disney to learn the fundamentals of musical theater. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Actors will explore:

  • Vocal technique such as breath control, articulation, rhythm, and vocal production
  • Movement and an introduction to choreography
  • Song interpretation and making a well-loved character your own

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon musical performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present projects, songs, and scenes rehearsed in class. Inspired by hit media like Dungeons and Dragons, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Lord of the Rings, actors will create their own characters and develop magical stories through original scenes and monologues. Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Actors will explore:

  • Theatrical skills such as tableaux, gesture, vocal production, and movement
  • Improvisation, playwriting, and story creation
  • Character creation through key tools including objective, obstacle, actions, and physicality
  • Scene and monologue performance

Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Ave Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning acting classes and an afternoon performance project. There will be some assignments and memorization in between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing to present material rehearsed in class. Have fun with peers while gaining some valuable acting skills!
