Classes will be held at our 30 Grant Avenue studios in San Francisco.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all faculty and students, the YC will adhere to the most updated safety precautions recommended by San Francisco, county, and state guidance in effect at the time of class.
Summer Session Refund Policy
- Courses with insufficient enrollment will be canceled and all tuition and fees paid will be refunded in full.
- Withdrawal and refund requests for any other reason must be made in writing and emailed to YoungConservatory@act-sf.org.
- Requests will be honored if received by the designated date prior to the start of the given class (see below). Class tuition will be refunded while the non-refundable registration and library fees will be withheld.
- Current Refund Deadlines (all deadlines are 11:59 p.m. on the date indicated)
- Full tuition refund deadline: Tuesday, April 1st, 2025
- Refund with $100 withdrawal fee deadline: Thursday, May 1st, 2025
- 50% tuition refund deadline: the Sunday 3 weeks before the start of the class
- Refunds of any kind will not be given after the above-stated deadline.
- Please allow 10-14 days for your refund to be processed.

Junior Intensives
Junior Acting Intensives
Schedule: Monday–Friday, June 9–13: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.
Tuition: $460
Get ready to laugh and to learn foundational acting techniques! In this course, students will explore the foundations of comedy through improvisation, physical work and funny scenes, bits and monologues. Expect lots of physical and imaginative play that help young actors develop a playful spirit and delight an audience. Actors will explore foundational acting skills, character creation, and scene performance. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (June 13) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Acting Intensive: Make ‘Em Laugh! is for you if:
- You love acting and want to explore fun ways to create characters and/or
- You’re especially fond of comedy in TV, film and stage and tend to do bits yourself to make people laugh, and/or
- You’d like to let go a little and discover/uncover your funny instincts, and laugh a lot

Schedule: Monday–Friday, June 23–27: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.

Lumos maxima! This magical intensive invites actors to use published and original material inspired by the characters and world of the Harry Potter series. Young actors will explore acting fundamentals, improvisation, creative writing, and performance inspired by the Wizarding World. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (June 27) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Acting Intensive: Harry Potter is for you if:
- You’re excited to explore theater for a fun and magical week-long intensive and/or
- You like to create and perform your own stories and/or
- You love Harry Potter and want to dive into the stories and characters from the Wizarding World
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, June 30–July 3 (no class July 4): 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.
Tuition: $375
Interested in acting in film and television? Now’s your chance to get in front of the camera! In this 1-week stage-acting intensive, young actors will take scenes and monologues from classic films and television shows and bring them to life. Guided by an on-camera specialist, actors will explore acting techniques, learn about the film and television industry, and gain confidence being in front of the camera. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (July 3) to present material rehearsed in class.
4-Day Acting Intensive: On-Camera is for you if:
- You want to have fun with peers while gaining valuable on-camera acting skills and/or
- You’ve never taken an on-camera class before and want a safe place to start
Schedule: Monday–Friday, July 28-Aug 1: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.

Dream. Create. It all starts with an idea! Students will learn practical theater fundamentals through creating stories from their own imaginations. Teachers will guide students in their storytelling and get them on their feet to act out the scenes and stories that they create! Actors will explore improvisation, playwriting and character creation, along with theatrical and performance skills to bring their writing to life. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (August 1) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Acting Intensive: Bring Your Stories to Life! is for you if:
- You’re a storyteller and you want to see your creations come to life and/or
- You’re a performer who’s interested in learning how to write original material and/or
- You want a place to unleash your imagination and creativity
Junior Musical Theater Intensives
Schedule: Monday–Friday, June 9–13: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.

Are you a good witch or a bad witch? In this 1-week intensive, students will explore iconic musical theater songs from virtuous heroes and heinous villains. Through shows like Wicked, Descendants, and Into the Woods, students will learn the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project with a live accompanist. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (June 13) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Musical Theater Intensive: Heroes & Villains is for you if:
- You’re excited to explore musical theater for a fun week-long intensive and/or
- You want the challenge of bringing good and bad characters to life on the stage
Schedule: Monday–Friday, June 23–27: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.
Tuition: $490
Getcha head in the game for your favorite Disney Channel films! From recent hits like Descendants and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, to classics like High School Musical and Camp Rock, actors will perform songs and scenes from classic DCOMs. Students will learn performance fundamentals and work on singing, dancing, and acting. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project with a live accompanist. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (June 27) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Musical Theater Intensive: Disney Channel Original Musicals is for you if:
- You’re ready for a fun-filled week of acting, singing, and dancing and/or
- You’re excited to perform iconic songs from modern pop musicals and/or
- You have a favorite Disney Channel musical that you’ve always wanted to be a part of!
Schedule: Monday–Friday, July 14-25: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at 30 Grant Ave.
Tuition: $890
Join the YC for a week of musical theater and acting fun! Using iconic songs from Broadway musicals featuring star roles for kids—such as Matilda, Annie, School of Rock, Peter Pan, and more—students will learn the fundamentals of singing, dancing, and musical theater performance. Classes will be held in-person at our 30 Grant Avenue Studios in San Francisco. Intensives include morning theater skills classes, a craft/design hour, a supervised lunch and an afternoon performance project with a live accompanist. There may be some assignments and memorization between classes. This intensive will culminate in a group showing “open class” on the final hour of the final day (July 25) to present material rehearsed in class.
1-Week Musical Theater Intensive: Young Broadway Stars is for you if:
- You’re excited to hone your skills as a “triple threat:” actor, singer, and dancer and/or
- You want to get up onstage and perform well-written roles for young actors
