Idol Worship
JUN 20, 2026
Legend meets legend in IDOL WORSHIP, the acclaimed onstage conversation and performance event starring cult film icon Mink Stole and San Francisco drag impresario Peaches Christ.
As part of the year long 30 Years of Peaches Christ in San Francisco celebration, and after 25 years of Mink Stole and Peaches Christ sharing stages around the world, the duo have announced that their farewell Idol Worship show, the final one, could only take place in San Francisco.
For one unforgettable night at The Strand Theater, the queens of underground cinema and counterculture unite to celebrate Mink’s legacy: her career, scandal, glamour, and divine weirdness, from her early days with John Waters and the Dreamlanders to her decades of scene stealing film, stage, and music work.
This San Francisco finale carries special meaning. The Strand famously found its footing as the arthouse cinema on Market Street through its record breaking run of Pink Flamingos. It is also the very first place Mink Stole ever saw the film, having missed the Baltimore premiere. To bring this farewell full circle in the very theatre that helped launch the movie into legend makes the evening historic as well as deeply personal.
But this night is more than a tribute to Mink. It is also a heartfelt and hilarious look at a quarter century of friendship and artistic collaboration between Mink and Peaches. Hosted and wickedly guided by Peaches Christ, Idol Worship is part interview, part concert, and part love letter to one of the most important queer figures in cult cinema history and to the bond that has shaped both performers’ creative lives.
Expect outrageous stories, revelations, film clips, and rare archival moments. A must attend for fans of John Waters, counterculture film, drag, filth, glamour, and unrepentant camp.
One night only. The final Idol Worship. San Francisco. Do not miss it.
