Hello!

You’ve sought out this webpage. You’re curious. Curiosity is the first step of each day in a creative life. The next step is to actually, physically, take a step toward your creative goals. Studio A.C.T. is here to help you on that journey.

Studio A.C.T. offers real theater classes for real people. Why real? Because theater and acting happen in real time. You’re really there. A real audience is watching and listening to you with baited breath. And then? Anything you can imagine really happens! The characters and the story, even the walls, might be pretend. But you—and your experience—are real.

People join Studio A.C.T. for many reasons. Some start their journey as actors here, and go on to perform with local Bay Area theaters. Some come on a whim, get the acting bug through Studio A.C.T., then go on to a master of fine arts program and a professional acting career. Some people might not wish to make acting their profession, but are looking for a fun, creative, stimulating, and interactive social experience. And some people come to Studio A.C.T. to come out of their shell, to grow, to stretch, to play again, to reconnect with their creativity and their joy.

I invite you to take your next creative step with us. Even better: your next creative leap! Come for an eight-week course, a one-week intensive, or even a one-day class. You’ll be so glad you did.

I look forward to welcoming you to Studio A.C.T.

Very best regards,

Mark Jackson
Director of Studio A.C.T.
