Publications

Central to A.C.T.'s mission is the development of a lively and thought-provoking dialogue with our community. A.C.T.'s publications are designed to enhance the theatergoing experience, offering the audience a variety of ways to learn about the plays, productions, and people who make theater happen on A.C.T.'s stages.

Words on Plays
Insight into the Play, the Playwright, and the Production

Each entertaining and informative issue of Words on Plays, A.C.T.'s in-depth performance guide series, contains a synopsis, advance program notes, study questions, and additional background information about the historical and cultural context of the play.

"Words on Plays is a terrific resource for the theatergoer who wants some context or background on the production. The original essays are usually as entertaining and well written as they are informative. The selection of topics and source materials is creative and thought provoking. . . . I almost always find some new information or intriguing point of view." —Robert Hurwitt, San Francisco Chronicle Theater Critic
