I Was a Rat!

by Barbara Field
Based on the book by Philip Pullman
Directed by Amelia Stewart

What does it mean to be human? In this fairytale gone furry, Roger the rat-boy scurries through the nooks and crannies of high and low society as he struggles to find his place in the world. A friendly cobbler and his wife warmly invite him into their home, but when the rest of the town discovers Roger's tendency to shred his sheets, the innocent boy becomes known as "The Monster of the Sewers." Based on the best-selling children's book, I Was a Rat! playfully satirizes the power of the press and the subversive swing of public opinion. A whirlwind theatrical adventure, this witty tale will delight audiences of all ages.

The ensemble cast of young Bay Area talent includes: Samuel Berston, Jacqueline Blaska, Bonnie Castleman, Christine Fraher, Calum Goldfield-Askew, Jack Goldfield-Askew, Mariella Levy, Alexander T. Mitchell
