American Conservatory Theater is the Bay Area's premier theater company, renowned nationally for creating bold new works and presenting daring reinterpretations of great classics, and respected and beloved locally for an unflagging commitment to the theatrical education and enrichment of the Bay Area community.
What you may not know is that A.C.T. is also a nonprofit organization, which means that ticket prices cover only 60% of the cost of each production. Therefore, every year we rely on the support of thousands of patrons like you to ensure that we are able to continue our mission to nurture the art of live theater through dynamic productions, intensive actor training, and an ongoing dialogue with our community. And we are keenly aware that your contribution—no matter how small—makes a big difference.
Your contribution to A.C.T.'s Annual Fund:
Helps to cover the 40% of each production's cost that is not covered by your ticket price
Provides scholarships for the talented emerging artists in our intensive three-year M.F.A. Program
Ensures that more than 1,000 Bay Area students are exposed to live theater experiences each year
In addition, your Annual Fund gift is your passport to backstage access at the American Conservatory Theater, behind-the-scenes tours of our scene and costume shops, early and exclusive access to tickets and promotions, sneak peeks during technical and dress rehearsals, and much more.
