Bessie Carmichael/FEC - Galing Bata 2024

A.C.T.’s Education and Community Programs Department and Filipino Education Center Galing Bata at Bessie Carmichael School/FEC present an original piece of theater created and performed by elementary school students, directed by Ely Sonny Orquiza. The A.C.T./Galing Bata classes harmonize children's culturally and linguistically sensitive development by promoting biliteracy in English and Filipino (Tagalog) through animating folk tales, promoting self-expression within community, and more. Culminating the yearlong creative experience, students have collaborated on on learned scenes/acting moments, staged readings and showcasing games to be presented to families and members of the Galing Bata community. 

This event welcomes families, teachers, and other community members to enjoy a delicious post-show meal, and to celebrate the students’ performance and creative endeavors.
