InterACT at Home

While our theaters are dark, we’ve created exciting free and ticketed virtual programming and events that give you an up-close look at the inner workings of theater and an opportunity to interact with artists and other theatergoers, expand your imagination in new ways, and help build a better world through theater.

The 20/21/22 Season is here, beginning with virtual Live Stream and On Demand performances and events to enjoy from the comfort and safety of home! Virtual tickets are on sale now for each show or become an A.C.T. Anywhere Season Pass holder to access all virtual performances and events through June 2021.  See more below.

at Home for Free

Place: Here. Time: Now.

A monthly series of freewheeling conversations between A.C.T’s Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon, eminent theater artists, and thought leaders on where they are in the present moment. Tune in to learn what is top of mind for some of the nation’s most curious and creative thinkers as they discuss and argue about theater and the world around them. How did we get here? What possibilities do they see ahead? How do they imagine change?

In episode 4, Pam chats with special guests James Ijames (A.C.T.'s Moon Man Walk) and director Morgan Green, both newly appointed co-artistic directors at Philadelphia's Wilma Theater, alongside Yury Urnov and founding artistic director Blanka Zizka. Listen as James and Morgan talk about their origin stories (from comic books to A.C.T. acting classes!) and the art of instilling pleasure in an audience.

Takes on a Scene

Artists provide commentary—their takes—on a specific scene from a recent A.C.T. production. Get a feel for the different points of view and the choices that go into bringing a script to life.

In these next takes, go behind the mics of "A Christmas Carol: On Air" with director Peter J. Kuo, sound designer Jake Rodriguez, and actor Sharon Lockwood, to learn more about how this year's "Carol" is different from previous years.

Take 10

Fun interactive theater games for all ages from A.C.T.'s Manager of Community Programs Stephanie Wilborn. Take 10 minutes to let you imagination soar and laugh with friends and family. Tune in for a new game every week with different hosts.

In this episode of Take 10, we're bringing you Part 2 of How to Rap with teaching artist Sierra Gonzalez. Dive in to the process of building your first lines from scratch—it's time to bring your inner poet alive!

New episodes of Take 10 will return in 2021!

Meads Reads

In this book club for plays, Director of Dramaturgy and New Work Joy Meads hosts a lively conversation about an irresistibly rich dramatic text. After reading the same play, the group will gather on Zoom to dig into its juicy layers of meaning. Each play comes with a suggestion for dinner from a local restaurant and/or a drink recipe from a local mixologist, and we will partner with small publishers, local booksellers, and individual playwrights to make scripts available.

Meads Reads will return in 2021!
